Ongoing Work

Bridging the Gap Between Climate Data and Community Action

November 19-26, 2024, the Eco-Smart team embarked on a transformative mission across 10 disaster-prone communities in Freetown, Sierra Leone. With a vision to empower local residents with real-time climate change information, we conducted extensive community surveys to gather actionable feedback that will refine the Eco-Smart app’s usability and impact.

10 Communities, One Goal: Climate Preparedness & Action

Our dedicated team engaged with residents in the following areas:

Susan’s Bay

Kroo Bay

Akram Community (Cobort)

Congo Town

Dunda Street

Congo Bridge

Tegbeh Town

Church Yard

Kallon Drive

Kolleh Town

These communities are among the most climate-vulnerable areas in Freetown, frequently facing flooding, coastal erosion, and extreme weather events. Their voices matter, and Eco-Smart is dedicated to ensuring they have access to real-time disaster alerts, climate adaptation resources, and emergency preparedness tips all at their fingertips.
